HADLEY, Mass. -- Amherst College sophomore forward Charlie Randall (Larchmont, NY) has been selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for play ending Sunday, Feb. 18th.

Randall posted his fourth double-double of the season, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, as the sixth-seeded Mammoths upset third-seeded Conn. College, 65-57, in the NESCAC Quarterfinals, the only upset of either the men's or women's tournament. Randall shot 64.7 percent from the floor in the victory and was 8-for-10 in the first half as the sophomore scored 16 of his 22 points in the first stanza. Randall hit two key jumpers to help Amherst maintain the lead as the Camels closed within two points late in the game.

He is averaging 10 points and 5.2 rebounds per game this season.

Amherst (15-10) will take on top-seeded Williams Saturday at 2 p.m. in Williamstown for a NESCAC Tournament semifinal.
