#19 Mammoths earn first road of the season over #25 Hamilton, 8-1

CLINTON, NY — On Saturday morning, the #19 Amherst College men's squash team played the second match of their 2024-25 season, again facing NESCAC opponents. At the Little Squash Center, the Mammoths triumphed over the #25 Hamilton College Continentals with a score of 8-1, with strong 
performances across the lineup.

Up Next:
The Mammoths' record improves to 2-0 (2-0 versus NESCAC teams). They have under 24 hours to recover and prepare for their next match tomorrow. At 11am tomorrow, Amherst will face the #31 Hobart College Statesman at the Smith Squash Center in Geneva, NY. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
  • After a five-set epic in midweek lasting over an hour, senior Abhimanyu Gupta's match today was much simpler. He won in three sets at the #2 spot versus Tobey Suratt. 
  • Five of the nine matches were straight-set wins for the Mammoths. 
  • Hamilton's only win of the day came at the #5 spot. Lucas Walden edged past first-year Fares Khairy with a final set 11-9 win in 51 minutes.
