Four Mammoths Earn CSA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Four student-athletes from the Amherst College men's squash team have been named Scholar-Athletes by the College Squash Association (CSA). Seniors Robert Avram (New York, N.Y.), Grady Herbert (Bryn Mawr, Pa.), and William Okurowski (Concord, Mass.), and junior Joseph Toth (Richmond, British Columbia) each earned the honor this season.

The CSA Scholar-Athlete Award is awarded to juniors and seniors with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 who have played for at least two seasons and played in a top-10 ladder position for the majority of matches this season. 

Avram, an economics, mathematics, and philosophy triple major, appeared in 12 matches and went 9-3 as the team's No. 11.

Herbert, an economics major, earned his second straight CSA Scholar-Athlete recognition. He appeared in 20 matches, and went 15-5 on the year as the team's No. 8.

Okurowski, architectural studies and mathematics double major, earned his second straight CSA Scholar-Athlete recognition. He appeared in 13 matches, went 10-3 on the year as the team's No. 10.

Toth, mathematics and psychology double major, went 13-6 on the year as the team's No. 3 on the way to earning his first All-NESCAC selection with a Second Team nod. 

Amherst finished the season with a 12-8 overall record, including a 7-2 mark in the NESCAC and a NESCAC Tournament Quarterfinal appearance. They concluded play at the 2026 CSA Nationals with a 4th place finish in the Hoehn Cup Division, with their results slotting them at No. 13 in the final national rankings.
