MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Amherst College men's track and field team kicked off action at the Middlebury Winter Classic with multi-eventers beginning competition in the heptathlon on Friday.

Through four of seven events, junior Alex Robin sits in fourth place with 2,212 points and first-year Santi Benbow is just behind in fifth with 1,705 points. Middlebury sophomore Quinn Kennedy leads the field with 2,568 points.

Robin set personal bests in the 60m dash (7.90 seconds) and long jump (5.79m).

The final three events of the heptathlon kick off a full day of track and field action on Saturday (Jan. 20) beginning at 9 a.m.
