MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Amherst College men's track and field team won its third straight Little Three Championship, capturing seven events in the indoor season opener on Saturday at Wesleyan University.
Despite winning one fewer event than Williams, Amherst used its depth to earn 152 points, besting the Ephs' tally of 110 points. Host Wesleyan placed third with 83 points. The Amherst women's team also won the meet, earning the Mammoths the Little Three trophy – a giant wooden 3 that the winning team can paint – for the combined champion.
The Mammoths are in action again next weekend, competing in the Middlebury Winter Classic with events beginning on Friday (Jan. 19) at 2 p.m. and Saturday (Jan. 20) at 11 a.m.
