REDLANDS, CA – The Amherst College women's tennis team returned to winning ways when they faced the University of Redlands Bulldogs on Friday at the Verdieck Tennis Courts.
The Purple and White swept the doubles against the Maroon and Grey, giving the team a 3-0 lead as they headed into the singles matches. Amherst then continued the momentum to secure wins in 5 of the 6 singles matches. Wins at the #1, #5 and #6 spots were especially convincing, while
Amy Cui and
Deliala Friedman battled through tiebreaks before prevailing with singles wins.

This victory rounds off Amherst's Spring Break visit to Southern California. The team now return to Western Massachussetts, and they will prepare for their double-header and home-opener versus Connecticut College and #5 Wesleyan. This commences Amherst's NESCAC campaign. The first match will take place against Connecticut College at 10AM ET on Saturday, March 26
th. Play will take place on either indoor or outdoor tennis courts – subject to weather conditions.
