CLAREMONT, CA – The Amherst College women's tennis team suffered a tough loss to the #3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) Athenas Wednesday at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center. The Mammoths were unable to thwart the Athenas' 3-match winning streak on CMS' home courts in Southern California.
Strong doubles performances by CMS swept the Mammoths 3-0 in the doubles matches. Amherst fought back in the singles, with Deliala Friedman and Jackie Buckzin winning their singles matches at the #1 and #4 spots, but the Athenas were too strong overall for the Purple and White.
