MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Amherst College men's squash team defeated Tufts University 7-2 in the fifth-place match at the 2022 NESCAC Championship Sunday morning at Trinity College.
The #20th-ranked Mammoths won the first two matches of the day, dropped one and then reeled off five consecutive victories to improve to 10-8 on the season. They are next slated to play at the CSA National Team Championships beginning Feb. 18 at the University of Pennsylvania Squash Center in Philadelphia.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
* The fifth match was the most compelling, with Abi Gupta from Amherst outlasting Tufts' Dillon O'Shea 8-11, 11-7, 11-2, 8-11, 11-8 in a five-game thriller.
* The clinching win for the Mammoths came at #2, where
Adam Lichtmacher defeated Tufts' Kerwin Teh 11-7, 12-10, 11-5.

Robinson Armour swept his opponent at #1, winning 11-7, 15-13, 11-2.
Neal Malani made quick work of his opponent at #3, posting an 11-3, 11-5, 11-5 victory.

Kedar Nagaraj knocked off K. Marco Rodriguez, 11-5, 11-9, 11-9 at #4.
* Charlie Sutherby was a 11-8, 11-6, 11-7 winner at #6 against Oliver Eilson.
