Mammoths win streak snapped by #15 M.I.T., 5-4

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- In a match fraught with drama Saturday, the #21 ranked Amherst College men's squash team fell to #15 ranked M.I.T., 5-4, at the Zesiger Center.

Amherst saw its six-match win streak comes to an end and its record fall to 7-4. M.I.T. improved to 6-6 on the season. The Mammoths are back in action Sunday for an 11 a.m. match at #17 ranked Tufts University. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
* Abhi Gupta gave Amherst an early lead with a 3-0 win over Collin Wren at No. 5, winning 11-6, 11-8, 11-3). At No. 7, Yeshwin Sankuratri tied the match 2-2 with a 3-1 win over Matt McManus, 11-9, 11-6, 7-11 and 11-2). At No. 3, Adam Lichtmacher gutted out a 3-1 win over Tom Hogan, 11-5, 11-8, 11-13, 11-7). At No. 8, Nate Mossé pulled out a dramatic 3-2 win over Robert Williamson, rallying from a 2-1 deficit in games to win the final two games, 11-7 and 11-8 and keep the Mammoths in the match.
