WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Mammoths' 4x400m relay team highlighted an impressive day by the Amherst College women's track & field team, as

Juanita Jaramillo '22 teamed up to register a new school record in the event Saturday afternoon at the Weston Athletic Complex in a tri-meet with Williams and Wesleyan.
Amherst returns to action next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16 when they travel to Williamstown, Mass. for a quad meet with Williams, Tufts, and Middlebury.

TRACK EVENTS
- Breaking the 4x400m relay school record with a sensational time of 3:53.43 to claim first place honors, the quartet of Madden, Friedman, Lingen and Jaramillo are now at the top of the program record book in the event.
- Junior Sam Tichelaar put together a career day for the Mammoths - posting three new personal bests – as the Taunton, Mass. native sprinted to a time of 12.70 seconds in the 100m dash to place second overall before adding another silver in the 200m event with a PR of 26.04 seconds.
- Making her collegiate 800m debut, Ally Deegan '24 clocked a time of 2:17.23 to earn fourth overall in the 13-competitor race. Deegan was followed by teammates Rachel Ruderman '21 (2:27.07) and Grace Haase '21 (2:32.57).
- Registering a speedy 4:47.42 mark in the 1500m finals, Sophia Wolmer '23 set a new personal best en route to placing first overall. Sarah Gayer '21 was next across the finish line for Amherst, logging a 4:50.58 mark to clinch fourth. Eline Laurent's '22 time of 5:02.02 was a personal best for the junior.
- Ella Rossa '21 continued her dominance in the 100m hurdles this season, clocking a time of 14.59 seconds to take gold. Owning a stellar lineup across the board in the event, the Mammoths also grabbed the three through six spots in the race, with Lauren Lamb '21 (15.82), Bridget Cassata '24 (17.00), Trintje Nydam '24 (17.19 - PR), and Olivia Steele '24 (17.62 - PR) also impressing.
FIELD EVENTS
- In the high jump, Nydam notched her second PR of the meet with a height of 1.47m to place second, while Rossa registered a 1.42m mark to place third.
- Tichelaar's third personal best of the day came in the long jump as she notched a distance of 5.33m to secure silver. Senior Dana Frishman's mark of 4.58m was good for fourth in the event.
- Setting a new PR in the triple jump, Lamb grabbed gold with a 11.56m mark, while Mia Bawendi '24 recorded a distance of 9.96m.
- Bethany Martin '24 paced the Mammoths in the shot put with a PR mark of 10.22m to place third overall. Fellow first-years Carolina Andrade and Debra Thayer also logged new bests in their third collegiate meet, with Andrade posting a 9.18m mark and Thayer improving on her mark for the third consecutive weekend with a toss of 8.96m.
- Competing in the discus, Martin (34.22m) and Thayer (29.69 – PR) placed second and fourth, respectively.
- The javelin saw all three Mammoths in the event record new personal bests, with Andrade leading the pack to take second with a distance of 35.92m.
