WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The No. 15 Amherst College women's golf team continued their record-breaking season this past weekend at the Williams Golf Championship at the Taconic Golf Club, setting both a new single-round program record and a new program tournament scoring low behind a 292-300-592 card and second place team finish.

The marks come one week after the Mammoths had previously broke the program single round record and set the new Amherst-best at 302. Eclipsing their own mark by 10 shots to post a round one 292, the Mammoths continued their impressive play in round two to finish out the tournament with a 592 (+24) to set a new program two-day tournament best mark. Williams College broke their own single round team scoring record at Taconic Golf Club with a 290 (+6) in round two to win the championship over a very strong field with a 590 (+22) team total.

First-year Gihoe Seo continued her standout fall season, logging rounds of 71-74-145 to finish at four-over-par and tie for first place overall – Seo's third first place individual finish of the season.

Janelle Jin '23 carded a collegiate-low even-par of 71 in round one that included an eagle and three birdies before shooting a 76 (+5) a day later to record a 147 (+5) and take third place. Seo and Jin shared the first-round lead at 71.

Priya Bakshi '24 and Jessica Huang '25 each recorded top-10 finishes for the Mammoths, with the duo capturing a tie for eighth place with a 151 (+9). Bakshi began the tournament with a collegiate-low 73 (+2) in round one before carding a 78 (+7) in round two. Huang shot 77 (+6) in round one and finished with a strong 74 (+3) in round two that included a birdie on her final hole.

Jenny Hua '24 shot rounds of 77-76-153 (+11) and finished tied for 13th overall to round out a historic Mammoths lineup who all individually finished inside the top-15 of the 55-golfer field.

Competing as an individual for the Mammoths, sophomore Mehr Luthra fired rounds of 81-79-160 to finish tied for 28th. The day-two total of 160 (+16) was a collegiate-low for Luthra, as was the round two score of 79 (+7).

Through the first four meets of the season, the women's golf team has totaled a team victory and three runner-up finishes, and totaled four individual first place finishes as the 15th-ranked program in Division III.

Gearing up for their biggest test of the fall slate, the Mammoths return to the course on October 9-10 as they travel to the Nonesuch River Golf Club in Scarborough, Maine for the 2021 NESCAC Qualifier hosted by Bowdoin College. The top-four team from the tournament earn the right to advance and clinch a spot in the 2022 NESCAC Championship to take place this spring.
