Amherst, MA - The Amherst College women's tennis team finished their fall season strong with an 8-1 win in their match against Williams this past Saturday. The Mammoths took a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches as
Jackie Bukzin '22 and Mia Kintiroglou '25 triumphed, 8-4. The duo had won previously in their doubles match in the MIT Invitational and finished strong for the season as a pairing. Katie Hart '25 and
Amy Cui '25 also picked up a win to earn a point for the Mammoths.
Deliala Friedman '25 and
Julia Lendel '25 fought hard in their doubles match, but ultimately fell to Williams, 6-8.
Mammoths rose to the top against the Ephs in singles play and swept every match, winning the overall match overwhelmingly by an 8-1 score. Bukzin won in her singles match with strong scores of 6-0, 6-3. Cui defeated her Williams opponent with a 7-6, 2-0 result. Lendel and Friedman each picked up wins for the Mammoths with scores of 6-3, 7-5 and 7-6, 6-1 respectively. Completing the final stretch for the Mammoths,
Calista Sha '24 won 6-2, 7-5, and Katie Hart dominated, 6-2, 6-2.
The Mammoths closed the Fall season with a dominating finish against Williams and are looking forward to their Spring campaign.
