SCARBOROUGH, Maine – The No. 15 Amherst College women's golf team capped their historic fall season with another record-shattering performance at the NESCAC Qualifier hosted by Bowdoin College at the Nonesuch River Golf Club this weekend, carding a 291-289-580 to win the tournament by 15 shots.

Capturing her fourth individual victory in five career starts for the Mammoths, first-year Gihoe Seo continued her dominant fall season at the tournament, posting rounds of 71-70-141 (-1) to win the meet outright by two strokes.

First year Jessica Huang finished a stellar fall campaign with rounds of 72-71-143 (+1) and a tie for second place. Huang competed in every tournament for the Mammoths this fall, compiling a tournament scoring average of 75.2 strokes and never finishing outside the top-10 individually.

Janelle Jin '23 fired rounds of 75-73-148 (+6) and tied for eighth place. Jin picked up right where she left off after placing solo third last weekend at Williams and finished the fall with a 73.7 scoring average over her final four tournament rounds.

Jenny Hua '24 began the NESCAC Qualifier with a collegiate career-low round of 73 (+2) before carding a 76 (+5) in round two to finish in a tie for 10th overall with a 149 (+7). The 2020-21 First Team All-NESCAC selection started every tournament for Amherst this fall, registering a stroke average of 77.5 strokes.

Priya Bakshi '24 rounded out the NESCAC Qualifier lineup for the Mammoths, firing rounds of 77-75-152 (+10) to finish in 14th place. Bakshi also started every tournament for the Mammoths this fall and provided critical consistency for the team, finishing with an impressive scoring average of 78.7 strokes.

Capping off a truly historic fall season as a team, the Mammoths broke the single round tournament scoring record four times (including in both NESCAC Qualifier rounds) and the two-day tournament scoring record three times, setting it twelve strokes better this past weekend. Individually, Amherst had the individual champion in all five tournaments they competed in, with Seo placing first four times and Jessica Huang '25 capturing gold once.

"I could not be prouder of these women and the way they competed throughout the season," said head coach Elizabeth Davis after the qualifier win, "they bought in to our team's process and supported each other every day at practice and competitions. This performance at the qualifier was huge for us, hosting NESCACs gives us a really critical home field advantage in the Spring."

Middlebury (595), No. 5 Williams (597), and Hamilton (604) were the other three programs that qualified for the NESCAC Championship, which will be hosted by the Mammoths during the spring season with the NESCAC title up for grabs.
