AMHERST, Mass. – The third-seeded Amherst College women's ice hockey team is set to take on second-seeded Colby College in 2020 NESCAC Championship Semifinal action this weekend. The second of two matchups on the day, Amherst will hit the ice on Saturday, March 7 at 4:00PM at Kenyon Arena in Middlebury, Vt.
Top-seeded Middlebury and fourth-seeded Hamilton College are featured in game one of the weekend, with the Panthers and Continentals facing off at 1:00PM.

HOW THEY GOT HERE
- Getting it done in overtime, No. 3 Amherst moved past Connecticut College, 1-0 in the Quarterfinals.
- No. 2 Colby defeated No. 7 Bowdoin, 2-0, in the final game at Alfond Rink and is in the Semifinals for the first time since 2014.
- The Panthers advanced to the Semifinals for the 18th time in 19 years with a 4-1 win over No. 8 Trinity.
- No. 4 Hamilton defeated No. 5 Williams, 4-3, on a last-second goal by Michaela Guittari to reach the Semifinals.
SCOUTING AMHERST
No. 3 Seed (15-5-5, 8-4-4 NESCAC) – Schedule / Roster / Stats
- NESCAC Rookie of the Year Jillian Mazzocca '23 is the top-scoring first-year in the conference and ranks sixth overall with 23 points on 11 goals and 12 assists, while junior Kaitlin Hoang has handed out a team-high 14 assists to go with six goals for 20 points.
- Sophomore Caitlin Walker, an All-NESCAC First Team goaltender, ranks third in the nation with a .957 save percentage and carries a 1.17 goals against average into the Semifinals. She has played all but 80 minutes in net for the Mammoths and is 14-5-5 on the year.
SCOUTING COLBY COLLEGE
No. 2 Seed (15-5-5, 9-3-4 NESCAC) – Schedule / Roster / Stats
- Lexi Cafiero and Tess Dupre lead the Mules with 20 points each - with Cafiero scoring nine goals and adding 11 assists, and Dupre, an All-NESCAC selection, dishing out a team-high 12 assists to go with eight markers.
- Bri Michaud-Nolan is third among defenders in the NESCAC with 14 points on three goals and 11 assists.
- Nina Prunster, who has seen over 700 minutes of action in net, owns a 1.14 goals against average with a .953 save percentage, while Cierra San Roman has played nearly 600 minutes in 10 games this season with a 1.74 goals against average and .920 save percentage.
SCOUTING MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE
No. 1 Seed (21-2-3 14-1-1 NESCAC) – Schedule / Roster / Stats
- NESCAC Player of the Year Madie Leidt and fellow All-NESCAC performer Jenna Letterie rank 1-2 in scoring in the conference, with Leidt posting a league-best 34 points on 18 goals and 16 assists, and Letterie tallying 29 points on 12 goals and 17 helpers.
- Backstopping the league's stingiest defense at 0.76 goals allowed per game are goalkeepers Anna Goldstein and Lin Han. Goldstein has played over 500 minutes in net and owns a 0.57 goals against average and .970 save percentage to lead the NESCAC in both categories, while Han has seen over 950 minutes of action - amassing a 0.81 goals against average and .960 save percentage.
SCOUTING HAMILTON COLLEGE
No. 4 Seed (16-8-1, 9-6-1 NESCAC) – Schedule / Roster / Stats
- Guittari is the top-scoring defender in the conference with 25 points on 10 goals and 15 assists, while Missy Segall is the top-scoring forward on the squad with 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists.
- Sidney Molnar has seen the most time in frame for the Continentals this season, playing over 840 minutes. She owns a 10-3-1 record with a 1.56 goals against average and .925 save percentage.
