WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Amherst men's swimming and diving saw two New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Champions on the final day of competiton at the 2020 NESCAC Championship as Bennett Fagan '20 swept the diving events and Craig Smith '20 finished first in the 200 backstroke as the Mammoths placed third overall at the Samuelson-Muir Pool.

 Tallying 1,386.5 points and six top-three finishes on the final day of competition, including two NESCAC Champions, Amherst concludes the league tournament with 17 top-three performances.

On the final day, Fagan and Craig Smith '20 became conference champions for their performances in the 3-meter diving contest and 200 backstroke, respectively, as Fagan, who claimed the 1-meter board with 497.50, scored 513.45 on the 3-meter board to conclude his sweep and Smith swam for a first-place finish of 1:47.63.

In the 100 freestyle, Scott Romeyn touched the wall in 44.43 seconds to take second place and earn another All-NESCAC selection. Sean Mebust '20, who already had two top-three finishes on the weekend, notched second place in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:59.54.

Tom Amsbry '22 finished third in the 3-meter diving competition (485.15) behind Fagan and Williams' Kobe Tray, while Jack Koravos '20, Eric Wong '20, Mebust, and Romeyn secured second in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 2:59.78 in the final event on the weekend. 

Amherst finished third with a score of 1,386.5, while Williams captured their 18th NESCAC title with 1,987.5 points.
