Moroney Named NESCAC Player of the Week

NESCAC RELEASE

HADLEY, Mass. - Amherst College's Quinn Moroney '16 was named the NESCAC Player of the Week for men's lacrosse as announced by the league office Monday.

Moroney helped No. 4 Amherst to a 2-0 week that featured a 19-8 victory over Skidmore College (March 8) and a 14-9 win over No. 6 Bates College on March 12.

The Manhasset, N.Y. native collected 15 points over the two-game span, netting five goals while dishing out 10 assists. Seven of Moroney's 10 helpers came in the Purple & White's NESCAC victory over the Bobcats, while he also picked up seven of his 10 ground balls during the league tilt. Moroney finished the week with 11 shots, eight on goal, caused an opponent turnover, and registered a 72.7 shots on goal percentage.

This is Moroney's first weekly award of the season. The Purple & White return to action Tuesday, March 15 when they take on Western New England University at 6 p.m. in Orlando, Fla.
