Box Score FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The No. 3/2 Amherst College women's basketball team used a 14-point, 14-rebound effort from Jackie Nagle '18 to help lift the Purple & White to a commanding, 70-32 victory over Farmingdale State University in Tuesday afternoon's non-conference contest in Farmingdale, N.Y.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Amherst cruised to its 38-point victory after shooting 41.8% from the floor and 29% from three-point range. The Purple & White out-rebounded Farmingdale State, 60-22, held a 23-2 advantage in second chance points, owned a 32-10 lead in points in the paint, held the Rams to 20% shooting from the field, and 28.6% efficiency from beyond-the-arc.
- Nagle led all players with 14 rebounds (including eight on the offensive glass), while Ali Doswell '17 netted a team-high 15 points to lead four players with double-digit scoring totals. Marley Giddins '16 finished with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Maeve McNamara '19 collected 10 points and four assists.
- Hannah Hackley '18 added nine first half points and four assists, Ali Doswell grabbed eight boards, while J.J. Daniell '19 and McNamara logged seven boards each.
- McNamara finished the contest recording collegiate career-highs in points (10), rebounds (7), assists (4), blocks (1), and steals (2), while Nagle's 14 boards was also a collegiate-best.
- Farmingdale State was led by Tyra Harrison who scored a game-best 18 points and registered a team-high five rebounds. Marissa Monaco added seven points in the losing effort.
FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Amherst opened first quarter play scoring eight unanswered points as Hackley and Ali Doswell each downed a pair of baskets to give the Purple & White an 8-0 lead.
- Farmingdale State scored its first points of the contest at the 6:06 mark when Harrison made a pair from the charity stripe, but the visitors were quickly back on the offensive, cruising to an 18-point, 25-7 lead following a trey by Daniell 19 with 13 seconds remaining in the first stanza.
- The second quarter saw a stingy Amherst defense hold the Rams to just five points, while the Purple & White extended their lead to as many as 26 following a Giddins layup at the 3:35 mark to set the score at 36-10.
- With five ticks on the clock, Haley Zwecker '16 knocked down a three-pointer to push the lead to 29 points (41-12) at intermission.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Amherst started the second half on fire as Giddins converted a layup and a free throw, while Ali Doswell drained a pair of strikes from long distance to give the visitors a commanding 50-12 advantage, as the Purple & White took an eventual, 54-24 lead into the fourth quarter.
- The fourth frame saw Amherst outscore Farmingdale State, 16-8 despite a seven-point effort from Harrison, as the Purple & White closed out the 70-32 victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Amherst and Farmingdale State met earlier this season with the Purple & White positing an 83-23 victory over the Rams on Sunday, Nov. 22 at LeFrak Gymnasium.

- Amherst returns to NESCAC action when it begins a six-game home stand Friday, January 22 when it hosts Bowdoin College at 7 p.m. at LeFrak Gymnasium. The Purple & White will look to extend their 116-game home winning streak to 117 games against the Polar Bears.
