  • 19 total shots were taken between the sides in the first 45 minutes of play, with Connecticut College narrowly edging the home team, 10-9.
  • Hester would get Amherst on the board and score her second game winner of the season just 2:46 into play. Off a cross, Hester beat her defender to a 50-50 ball in the air and was able to use her body to redirect the ball past the Camel goalkeeper. First-year Maeve McNamara notched her team-leading third assist on the play.
  • With Connecticut College on the attack, Holly Burwick '16 made a clutch save for the Purple & White in the 22nd minute to keep the one goal lead. After collecting the corner kick from Livi Block, Mackenzie Kingston sent a hard shot from just inside the box on net, but Burwick was up to the task, making a jumping save with two Camels rushing towards her.
  • Similar to the first half, it would take Hester only 2:21 into the second period to tally her team-leading fourth goal of the season. Taking advantage of a corner kick, Hester headed the pass from Sarah Zuckerman '17 off of Alex Santiago's fingertips and into the goal.
  • McNamara would record her third point of the matchup and give Amherst a 3-0 lead with 32:05 remaining in the game. Lined up 10 yards outside the box for the Purple & White's fifth corner kick of the day, McNamara got her foot on the bouncing inbound cross and lofted the ball just over the reach of Santiago.
