AMHERST, MA. – Senior defender Ella Johnson (Seattle, Wash.) and first-year forward Emma Darling (Weston, Mass.) were named to the 2025 United Soccer Coaches (USC) All Region I team, as announced by the organization today.

Johnson earned a first-team nod after what was arguably her best season as a Mammoth. The stalwart defender led all field players with an astounding 1543 minutes this season, playing all 90 minutes in all but 2 games, and contributed on the offensive side of the ball with an assist against Bates on Sept. 27. Her defensive presence was felt across the backline, beginning the season as an consistent threat at the outside back spot before moving into the center back position later in the year. She led a Mammoth backline that allowed just 13 goals in 18 games and recorded 8 shutouts. Johnson's second straight USC All-Region selection follows a 2025 NESCAC First Team honor accorded earlier this season.

Darling was awarded a Second Team selection after bursting onto the scene in 2025, scoring 6 times in her rookie season while also notching 4 assists to lead the Mammoths in points with 16. The first-year speedster carved out a role for herself on the Amherst front-line, playing in all 18 games and starting 10 on the way to finishing the year 10th in the NESCAC in total points and 11th in goals. This is Darling's first All-Region honor, coming on the heels of a Second Team All-NESCAC selection earlier this season.

The Mammoths finished the 2025 season with a 11-5-2 overall record, earned a top-4 seed in the NESCAC Tournament, and made NESCAC Quarterfinal and NCAA Round of 32 appearances.
