AMHERST, MA. – Senior defender
Ella Johnson (Seattle, Wash.), senior midfielder
Brooke Ingemi (Plymouth, Mass.) and first-year forward
Emma Darling (Weston, Mass.) were named to the 2025 New England Sports Writers Association (NEWISA) All New England team, as announced by the organization last week.
Johnson earned a first-team nod after the best season of her career. The lockdown defender led all field players with 1543 minutes this season, playing a full 90 minutes 16 times, and contributed an assist against Bates on Sept. 27. She was a constant presence across the backline, starting the season at outside back spot before moving to center back later in the year. She helped lead an Amherst defense that allowed just 13 goals in 18 games and recorded 8 shutouts. This is just the latest in a long list of honors for Johnson, who also earned All-NESCAC, USC All-Region, All-American, and Academic All-American selections for her 2025 performance.
Ingemi garnered a first-team spot after finishing the season with four goals and one assist and leading the Mammoths' midfield all year. The senior played in all 18 games, starting 17, and came up big in big moments. She scored two game-winners, including the deciding penalty kick with five minutes to go in arguably Amherst's biggest win of the year against then-No. 3 Tufts. She was also selected to the All-NESCAC second team for the first time in her career.
Darling was awarded a third team selection for her breakout rookie season, recording 6 goals and 4 assists to lead the Mammoths in points with 16. The first-year speedster carved out a role for herself on the Amherst front-line, playing in all 18 games and starting 10 on the way to finishing the year 10
th in the NESCAC in total points and 11
th in goals. This is Darling's first NEWISA All-New England honor, coming on the heels of Second Team All-NESCAC and USC All-Region selections earlier this season.
The Mammoths finished the 2025 season with a 11-5-2 overall record, earned a top-4 seed in the NESCAC Tournament, and made NESCAC Quarterfinal and NCAA Round of 32 appearances.
