Box Score AMHERST, Mass. – The No. 15 Amherst College women's soccer put seven shots on frame and Holly Burwick '16 registered eight saves on the day, but the Purple & White suffered its second loss of the season Saturday to NESCAC rival Tufts University, 2-1.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Both teams experienced periods of significant momentum in what was a high tempo matchup that saw 24 shots taken between the sides.
- Jess Capone of Tufts would score what proved to be the games only goal 27 minutes into action. Corralling a loose ball near the penalty hash, Capone fired a shot on net that found its way past the Amherst netminder and into the back right corner of the net.
- First-year Maeve McNamara '19 nearly evened the contest before the half's end. Rifling a shot from the right side of the field, McNamara forced Jumbo goaltender Emily Bowers to make an athletic save, deflecting the ball just over the net.
- Despite consistent offensive pressure in the final 10 minutes of play by the home team, Tufts was able to hold on to the victory, 1-0
- Amherst held the advantage in corner kicks, 8-1.
- Burwick made five saves for Amherst in the first half en route to an eight save effort. McNamara paced the Purple & White with three shots on goal, while four other Amherst players each put one shot on frame in the outing.
- In addition to scoring the Jumbos' lone goal, Capone also led the team in shots on net with three. Bowers registered seven stops between the pipes in the win.
