Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine – The Purple & White held the advantage in shots on goal, 11-4, but the 14th-ranked Amherst field hockey team fell short to Colby College in Saturday afternoon's NESCAC tilt.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The first half featured 35 minutes of scoreless action, despite 17 total shots being taken between the sides and Amherst boasting seven penalty corner opportunities.
- The Mules scored what proved to be the game's only goal in the 47th minute of action. Taking advantage of a corner opportunity, Colby College's McKayla Blanch tipped the shot of Megan Fortier past Purple & White netminder Emily Horwitz '17 to notch her fourth goal of the season and the game winner.
- Amherst held the edge in both shots and corner opportunities, 15-11 and 10-5, respectively.
- Horwitz recorded three saves for Amherst in the losing effort, while Annie Turnbull '16 took a team-high five shots in the outing.
- Sarah Evans made 11 saves for the Mules to earn the win. Megan Fortier took a game-high six shots in the matchup.
