MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Amherst College squash teams dropped to 3-4 on the season after falling to Middlebury College on Tuesday. The Lord Jeffs will travel to take on Brown University on Wednesday.
Highlighting the afternoon was Charles Loesch-Quintin '13, who won a marathon match on the men's side. After he split the first two games with Cooper Redpath, the Amherst junior pulled ahead with a 14-12 win in the third frame. Redpath responded with a thrilling 21-19 victory in game number four, but Loesch-Quintin battled back for an 11-5 result in the final frame.
Accounting for Amherst's other point was Alex Southmayd '15, who earned a close win over Middlebury's Reed Palmer (13-11, 11-6, 9-11, 12-10).
