AMHERST, MA - The Amherst College softball team suffered a 7-0 non-conference loss at Trinity College on Tuesday. Trinity junior Victoria Moshier (Old Saybrook, CT) hurled a complete-game four-hit shutout and was 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI as the Bantams evened their record at 11-11, while Amherst dropped to 13-9-1.

Trinity jumped on Amherst junior starter Miya Warner (Berkeley, CA) early, picking up three runs in the first on four hits, including a two-run bomb from junior Laura Watson (Carlisle, MA). The Bantams added one more in the third before Warner gave way to rookie Samantha Miller in the fifth. Trinity capped its scoring in the fifth, tacking on three more runs on five hits and two errors.

Warner took the loss, falling to 10-3 as she surrendered four runs on seven hits and two walks, while striking out three in four innings. Miller tossed the final three frames, giving up three runs on six hits. Amherst junior Laura Trigeiro (Reston, VA) slapped a pair of singles, while junior Rachel Hoerger (Oakland, CA) stroked a double and first-year Kelly King (Grosse Pointe Park, MI) singled.
