HADLEY, MA – Sophomore utility player Lulu Leppard (Nashua, N.H.) of the Amherst softball team was named to the All-NESCAC First Team, the conference announced earlier today.
 
Leppard followed up a breakout first season with an even better sophomore campaign. She made her money at the plate, hitting .446 (team lead, fifth in the NESCAC) with a 1.217 OPS (team lead, sixth in the NESCAC), including a .713 slugging and .504 on-base percentage (both team lead, fifth in the NESCAC) in the cleanup spot. In 101 at-bats, she recorded 27 RBIs, which lead the team, six triples, (third in the NESCAC), and four home runs. In 31 games playing primarily at shortstop, a position she came into the season unfamiliar with, she also recorded 46 putouts and 43 assists. This is Leppard's second All-NESCAC honor, as she earned a Second Team nod last season.
 
Amherst finished their season with a 11-25 record, including a 5-13 record in NESCAC play.
