FORT MYERS, FL - The Amherst College baseball team posted a 10-4 win over St. Lawrence University in Fort Myers, Florida on Wednesday. Amherst senior catcher Tom Sullivan (Tewksbury, MA) was outstanding at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two singles, a double, a home run and three RBI's. Junior shortstop Zach Schonberger (Rye, NY) was impressive as well with a 4-for-6 performance, including a pair of doubles and four RBI's, as the Jeffs improved to 3-2.
Amherst senior hurler Duncan Webb (Lynn, MA) picked up his second victory of the season, throwing seven strong innings. He scattered 12 hits, allowing just three earned runs, while striking out nine, and sophomore Joe Vladeck (Washington, DC) pitched two scoreless innings in relief to pick up the save. Sophomore first baseman Dave Levinson (Philadelphia, PA) was 2-for-5 with an RBI.
Amherst returns to action Thursday at 11 a.m. against Rowan University, also in Fort Myers.
