AMHERST, MA – The Amherst College men's tennis team shut out visiting NESCAC foe Colby College in their season-opener on Saturday. With the victory the Jeffs move to 1-0 on the year while the White Mules drop to 0-1. 

Amherst sophomore Arpan Podduturi (Bellevue, WA) led the way with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Colby's Kevin Yardi. First-year Josh Rilla (Westborough, MA) and sophomore Max Rettig (Rockford, IL) also displayed impressive performances as they each notched 6-1, 6-0 singles victories. 

Amherst returns to action Friday, September 20th at Vassar College for the ECAC Tournament.
