#18 MAMMOTHS OVERCOME BANTAMS AWAY, 6-1

HARTFORD, CT. — The #18 Amherst College men's tennis team battled past Trinity on Saturday at the Paul Assaiante Tennis Center with a strong 6–1 victory, moving to 5–3 overall and 2–1 in the NESCAC. With courts split across two waves, #1, #3 and #4 starting first, followed by #2, #5 and #6. The Mammoths won all three doubles matches before locking down five singles courts.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Andreas Sillaste was efficient at #1 singles, overcoming Luca Garbati 6–2, 6–1 in just 1 hour and 18 minutes and allowing Trinity just three games the entire match.
  • Albert Hu delivered the last performance of the day at #6, clawing back from a first-set loss to outlast Thompson Brown 5–7, 6–4, 10-8.
  • Lukas Frangenberg also earned a gritty win at #3 (6–1, 4–6, 6–1). In doubles, George Chaidemenos and Rex Harrison were the standout pair, earning their first win together, besting Luca Garbati and Maxim Golubenko 6–1 at #2 to anchor the doubles sweep.

Amherst returns home on Sunday, March 29 at 1:00 PM for another NESCAC clash against Tufts. The Mammoths will look to build on Saturday's road victory and extend their conference winning streak in back-to-back conference action.
