Meghan Henderson scored in the bottom of the 7th to give Amherst a 6-5 win and a sweep of Trinity in the doubleheader. The Bantams fall to 3-8 for the season while Amherst betters its record to 9-2. Trinity travels for two at Wheaton tomorrow while Amherst will play a doubleheader at Smith on Tuesday.

Softball added two wins to better its record to 9-2 for the season. RookieAllison Schwarting (Los Angeles, CA) pitched a 4-hit shutout while manufacturing three hits and three of her 9-10 stolen bases over the weekend to win NESCAC Player of the Week honors.

Amherst posted a 5-0 victory off seven hits in game one of the doubleheader. Schwarting earned her fifth win of the season by striking out eight Bantam batters. She moved to rightfield in game two as the Jeffs watched Trinity tie the game at 5 in the 6th inning. Meghan Henderson '00 (Tampa, FL) scored in the bottom of the 7th for the game-winner as junior co-captain Jen Shea (Hatfield, MA) betterd her record to 4-0.
