4/25/2026 9:09:00 PM

AMHERST, MA. — The #18 Amherst College men's tennis team edged Wesleyan 4–3 on Saturday afternoon at home, improving to 11–5 overall and 6–3 in the NESCAC. Amherst set the tone by taking the close doubles point, then picked up enough singles wins to hold off the Cardinals in a tight home match.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Amherst opened the dual with a strong doubles showing, winning at No. 1 and No. 2 to secure the opening point. Andreas Sillaste and Lukas Frangenberg rolled at No. 1, while George Chaidemenos and Rex Harrison clinched the second doubles match in a tiebreak to give Amherst the early edge.
  • The Mammoths then got singles wins from Andreas Sillaste, Rex Harrison, and Albert Hu. Hu's straight-set win at No. 6 was the clincher, pushing Amherst ahead 4–0 and sealing the team result before the final singles matches finished. Wesleyan took the remaining courts, but Amherst had already done enough to secure the dual. Two of the remaining three matches were pushed to the third set by the Mammoths.
