4/19/2026 7:00:00 PM

LUDLOW, MA. — The #16 Amherst College men's tennis team edged #18 Williams College 4–3 on Sunday at the Ludlow Tennis Club in a Little Three battle that came down to the final matches. Amherst improved to 9–5 overall and 5–3 in NESCAC play, while Williams fell to 9–4 and 6–2 in conference action. In a match that featured plenty of back-and-forth momentum, the Mammoths ultimately found a way to close out the rival Ephs and earn a big home win, after a heartbreaker against Middlebury on Saturday.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Williams swept all three doubles matches to take the early point, putting Amherst in chase mode from the start. The Mammoths responded in singles, where Andreas Sillaste and George Chaidemenos delivered straight-set wins at #1 and #2 to keep Amherst in striking distance.
  • Rex Harrison also came through with a huge win at #5, taking a tight first set 7–6 before cruising in the second 6–0.
  • The deciding moment came at #3, where Lukas Frangenberg clinched the match for Amherst, battling through a tight three-setter and then closing it out with strong serving and heavy forehands to secure the fourth and final point.
