HADLEY, MA – First-year pitcher Saahi Jetti (Des Moines, Iowa.) was named this week's NESCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced earlier today.

Jetti made his collegiate debut in the Mammoths' season opener against Springfield on Saturday, showing no signs of needing an adjustment period: he stepped onto the mound in the fourth, throwing six no-hit, shutout innings while striking out 10 batters and walking only 2. His efforts were rewarded, as Amherst put up five runs to win 5-0 to earn him his first collegiate win.

Amherst will return to action this Sunday, March 8 with a double header versus Ramapo College. The games will be played at Trinity College, with first pitch for game 1 scheduled for 12 p.m.
