2/21/2026 8:44:00 PM

PHILADELPHIA, PA. — The #9 Amherst College women's squash team closed its regular season on the road Saturday, falling 9–0 to #12 Drexel on the Dragons' home courts to move to 15–3 on the year. With the result coming against another top-12 opponent and Amherst holding regular season wins over current #13 Middlebury and #14 Georgetown, the Mammoths remain in a strong position to stay inside the crucial top 12 nationally and qualify for the CSA National Team Championships from March 5–8, which feature the top 12 teams in the country.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Amherst's lone game win of the day came at #2 singles, where Anastasiia Krykun pushed Drexel's Emma Bartley in a 3–1 decision. Bartley ultimately prevailed 11–8, 11–2, 8–11, 11–3 in a 26-minute contest, with Krykun taking control of the third game to secure Amherst's only set of the afternoon before Bartley closed out the fourth.

  • Across the rest of the lineup, Drexel displayed its depth and pressure, sweeping the remaining courts in three games.

UP NEXT:

At 15–3 and currently ranked inside the top 10, Amherst has built a strong season that includes victories over Middlebury and Georgetown, programs clustered just outside the top 12 in recent rankings. The CSA structure sends the top 12 women's teams to the National Team Championships while programs ranked 13 and below contest at the CSA Divisional Team Championships on a separate weekend, so Amherst will now await final rankings to determine whether it heads back to Philadelphia from March 5-8 for a shot at the national championship bracket or slots into the divisional event instead.
