HARTFORD, CT. – After yesterday's victory against Connecticut College, Amherst fell to Trinity 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-16), moving Amherst to 8-6 overall and 1-4 in NESCAC play.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

*The Mammoths struggled offensively in the opening set, and the Bantams pulled away to an early 10-5 lead. Two back-to-back kills from Addison Lau seemed to spur some life, helping to cut the lead to three at 16-12, but Trinity continued to pull away. The Bantams scored nine out of the 10 remaining points in the match, winning 25-13.

*In the second set, Amherst bounced back offensively, forcing a 13-13 tie. Trinity went on a three-point run, and Amherst responded with a four-point run, aided by a Raegan Lentz and Tiana Richardson block, along with three Bantam attacking errors. Kills from Gabrielle Hines and Chloe Mensah allowed the Mammoths to pull ahead to 19-18, but Trinity scored the next six to reach set point at 24-19 before closing out the match with a 25-20 victory.

*In the third set, Trinity came out hot, pushing to a 7-1 lead. The Bantams continued their domination until they were leading 17-6, when Amherst mounted a strong run. Two kills from Tiana Richardson, a kill from Stella Jacey, a Sofial Camilo-Raegan Lentz block, and a service ace from Liliana Brandt cut the lead to 20-13. However, the Amherst effort fell short, and Trinity finished with a 25-16 victory.
