Sujit Chepuri was announced as a 2025 ITA Division III Men's Regional Award recipient, earning the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award.
The ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award recognizes outstanding student-athletes in all five divisions (NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and JUCO) at the regional and national level. This prestigious award, which dates back to 1982, is presented to the men's and women's national student-athletes who have exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership, as well as scholastic, extracurricular and tennis achievements.
A two time captain of the Amherst College men's tennis team, Chepuri also served as the Amherst College Student-Athlete Advisory Comittee (SAAC) President for the 2024-25 academic year. Chepuri also served as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Representative for the men's tennis team.
A member of the STEMSibs Leadership Team, Chepuri mentored three first-year students to help them navigate STEM opportunities, secure research positions, and support academic growth. Chepuri served as a research assistant for the Amherst College Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics since the summer of 2023 and was a research intern at the Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute during the summer of 2024.
