CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Junior
Cody Pierce won the 400m as the Amherst College men's track and field team competed at the MIT Final Qualifier.
The top 22 individuals and top 16 relays will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Thursday, May 22 through Saturday, May 24, hosted at the SPIRE Institute's Outdoor Track & Field facility in Geneva, Ohio. The official NCAA qualifier list will be released tomorrow, May 16 at 8 p.m. EST.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Junior
Jordan Harrison finished eighth in the 100m prelims with a time of 10.87 before placing seventh in the 100m finals posting a time of 11.09.
* Pierce won the 400m by over a second, recording a personal record of 47.96.
* In the hammer, junior
Charlie Spurrell posted a distance of 54.31m, placing third overall.
* First-year
Gavin Schmidt delivered a runner up performance in the discus notching a mark of 48.65.
* First-year
Christoph Osselmann-Chai tied his personal record of 3.55m in the pole vault, placing fourth.
