AMHERST, MA – The #12 Amherst College men's tennis team delivered a dominant 7–0 victory over the #47 MIT Engineers on Thursday afternoon, sweeping both the doubles and singles matches in their final home match of the regular season. The match, played outdoors in beautiful, sunny conditions, showcased a complete performance from start to finish as the Mammoths earned their 14th win of the year.
Up Next: With the win, Amherst improves to 14–5 overall and remains 7–2 in NESCAC play. The Mammoths will close out the regular season on Sunday with a marquee matchup against the #3 Tufts University Jumbos. The match is scheduled to begin at 12 PM ET at the Voute Tennis Courts in Medford, MA.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Amherst swept all three doubles matches by identical 6–3 scores to claim the doubles point for the 10th time in their last 11 matches.
- Junior George Chaidemenos continued his strong spring with a dominant 6–2, 6–0 win at #5.
- Senior Sujit Chepuri extended his winning streak at the #6 spot to five matches, posting a 6–4, 6–3 win to complete the team sweep.
