Three Mammoths earn CSA Scholar Athlete Award

PHILADELPHIA – Three student-athletes from the Amherst College men's squash team have been earned the Scholar Athlete Award from the College Squash Association (CSA). Senior Abhi Gupta (San Francisco, CA) and juniors Grady Herbert (Bryn Mawr, PA) and William Okurowski (Concord, MA) each earned the honor this season.

The CSA Scholar Athlete Award is awarded to juniors and seniors with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 who have played for at least two seasons and played in a top-10 ladder position for the majority of matches this season.

Gupta is a double major in computer science and economics. A team captain, he played mostly at the top spot on the ladder this season, facing some of the top opponents in the nation. Gupta earned Second Team All-NESCAC honors this season and is a repeat selection as a CSA Scholar-Athlete.

Herbert is an economics major who posted a record of 10-8 this season. Playing mostly at the seventh and eighth positions, Herbert opened the season with a five-match winning streak.

Okurowski is a double major in architectural studies and mathematics. He amassed a record of 7-3 playing mostly at the ninth position.

The Mammoths went 11-10 this season and finished the season ranked 19th in the nation.
