#7 Amherst Falls Just Short Against #23 Hamilton in 4–3 Indoor Battle

Box Score CLINTON, NY – The #7 Amherst College men's tennis team dropped a close 4–3 decision to the #23 Hamilton College Continentals on Sunday afternoon in a hard-fought NESCAC match indoors at the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. 

Up Next: Amherst moves to 13–5 overall and 7–2 in NESCAC play. The Mammoths return home for a midweek non-conference matchup against the #51 MIT Engineers on Thursday at 3:30 PM on Amherst's outdoor courts (weather permitting).


HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Amherst earned a 6–3 win at #1 doubles from Edred Opie and Andreas Sillaste with their fifth consecutive victory.
  • Sophomore Andreas Sillaste delivered a commanding 6–2, 6–1 win at the top singles spot.
  • First-year Aldiyar Abzhan added a 6–4, 6–1 win at #3, earning his 11th win of the spring season.
