AMHERST, Mass. -- The Amherst College women's track and field team registered 16 New England Division III qualifying performances at the Julie LaFreniere Commonwealth Invitational hosted by UMass Amherst on Sunday.
The Mammoths will return to the track on Saturday, April 19 at the Sean Collier Invitational hosted by MIT at 10 a.m.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Opening the day for the Mammoths in the 4x100m relay, the quartet of sophomore
Rachel Hubley, sophomore
Camilla Lash, senior
Eliza Cardwell, and sophomore
Héloïse Hughes placed fifth overall with a time of 49.83.
* First-year
Audrey Seeger was the top finisher for Amherst in the 1500m, crossing the line in 4:50.98 and placing 25th in the field of 70 finishers.
* Junior
Piper Lentz finished sixth overall in the 400m, recording a personal best time of 58.09.
* In the 100m, first-year
Ellie Jolly finished as the top Division III athlete, placing fourth overall and producing a time of 12.40 while Hubley placed sixth with a personal record of 12.52.
* Cardwell finished as the top Mammoth and top Division III competitor in the 100m hurdles, registering a time of 14.64 and placing sixth overall. Juniors
Myeh Medina and
Arissa Grace McGowan finished ninth and tenth, respectively, recording times of 14.91 and 15.02.
* Senior
Sylvan Wold placed fifth in a field of 49 finishers in the 800m, clocking in a personal best time of 2:15.80 while classmate
Julia Schor placed seventh overall with a time of 2:17.53.
* Medina placed fourth in the 400m hurdles, posting a season best of 1:04.18.
* Hughes finished as the runner up in the 200m, delivering an outdoor personal best time of 25.05 while Hubley placed seventh overall notching a personal record of 25.78.
* Senior
Claire Callon led Amherst in the 5000m, crossing the line in 18:10.80.
