NORTHAMPTON, Mass. -- Senior
Aidan Gemme won the 5000m as the Amherst College men's track and field team resumed competition at the Carla Coffey Invitational on Saturday.
Select members will compete tomorrow at the Julie LaFreniere Commonwealth Invitational hosted by UMass Amherst on Sunday, April 13 at 10 a.m.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Gemme finished over 14 seconds ahead of the runner up in the 5000m, recording a time of 15:22.30.
* In the high jump, the Mammoths placed second, third, and fifth, as sophomore
Michael Abbey Jr., senior
Alex Robin, and senior
Camden Heafitz recorded heights of 1.90m, 1.85m, and 1.80m, respectively.
* Abbey Jr. placed second in the triple jump with a season best of 13.88m while first-year
Matt Kasper also posted a season best of 13.59m which was good for third place. First-year
Bohan Zheng placed fifth delivering a mark of 13.11m.
