#10 Amherst Downs #60 Colby in NESCAC Battle, 5–2

LUDLOW, MA – The #8 Amherst College men's tennis team continued its strong run in conference play with a dominant 5–2 victory over the #60 Colby College Muleson Saturday afternoon at the Ludlow Tennis Center. 

Up Next: With the win, Amherst improves to 12–4 overall and 6–1 in NESCAC play. The Mammoths will return to action tomorrow for a highly anticipated Senior Day matchup against the #5 Bowdoin College Polar Bears at 12 PM, again at the Ludlow Tennis Center. The team will honor seniors Edred Opie, Sujit Chepuri, and Kobe Ellenbogen before the match.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Amherst opened the match by sweeping all three doubles courts.
  • Senior Edred Opie improves his winning streak to 11, after going 2–0 on the day.
  • Junior George Chaidemenos improved to 11–0 on the season with a commanding 6–2, 6–2 win at #5.
