AMHERST, Mass. -- Sophomore
Parker Boyle wins the 800m elite field at the Silfen Invitational as the Amherst College men's track and field team split competition between the Carla Coffey Invitational and the Silfen Invitational on Friday evening.
Amherst will resume competition at the Carla Coffey Invitational tomorrow (April 12) at 11 a.m. and will have select members compete at the Julie LaFreniere Commonwealth Invitational hosted by UMass Amherst on Sunday, April 13 at 10 a.m.
SILFEN INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS:
* In a field of 46 finishers, Boyle wins the 800m by over a second, registering a time of 1:54.21. Junior

Will Nagy finished seventh and eighth, respectively, recording times of 1:56.78 and 1:57.17.
* Sophomore
George Cahill placed seventh overall in the 10,000m, delivering a time of 31:45.66 while first-year
Ben Kasen followed just behind in eighth posting a time of 31:48.25 in his 10,000m debut.
CARLA COFFEY INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS:
* Junior
Zach Villegas placed fifth in the decathlon 100m finishing in 11.87 before placing fifth in the decathlon long jump recording a mark of 5.75m.
* In the decathlon shot put, Villegas led the Mammoths placing fifth with a throw of 10.32m. The junior also led the Mammoths in the decathlon high jump placing fourth overall with a height of 1.67m.

Santi Benbow placed third in the decathlon 400m crossing the line with a time of 53.16.
* Senior
Kevin Ryu placed fourth in the javelin, posting a mark of 47.06m.
* First-year
Christoph Osselmann-Chai placed second in the pole vault producing a personal best of 4.55m.
