MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- Emma Ramsingh won the discus as the throwers from the Amherst College women's track and field team opened the outdoor season at the Swanson Spring Classic hosted by Wesleyan University on Saturday.
Amherst will return to the track on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at the Black and Golf Invitational hosted by Bryant University.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Ramsingh won the discus throw registering a mark of 36.54m.
* In the hammer throw, sophomore
Isabella Niemi placed fourth overall, delivering a personal best of 38.71m while Ramsingh tied for fifth throwing a distance of 38.41m.
* First-year
Madison Vant placed third in the javelin posting a distance of 35.81m while junior
Morgan Rome notched a fourth-place finish with 35.74m.
