GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Amherst College men's swimming and diving team finished 17th in the nation in the 400-yard medley relay to highlight action for the Mammoths on the first day of the NCAA Division III Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. The five Mammoths who qualified for the national championship meet were all in action on Wednesday, all of whom were making their NCAA Championship debuts.

Ethan Van De Water posted a time of 3:17.62 in the preliminaries of the 400 medley relay to place 17th.
First-year
Jack Goepfrich finished 30th in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 4:36.07 in the preliminaries.
Olson and Nadel also competed in the 50-yard freestyle. Olson finished 39th in 20.92 seconds and Nadel placed 44th in 21.18 seconds, both personal bests.
The national championship meet runs through Saturday (March 22) with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. each day with the finals session kicking off at 6 p.m. each evening. Thursday's action will see Olson and Nadel competing in the 100-yard butterfly, Goepfrich swimming the 200-yard freestyle and the Mammoths taking on the 200-yard freestyle relay.
