ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Sophomore Héloïse Hughes of the Amherst College women's track and field team finished 15th in the nation in the 200m dash with her run today at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships at the Golisano Training Center hosted by Nazareth University and Rochester NY Sports Commission.

Hughes ran a time of 25.22 in the preliminary round to finish third in her heat and 15th overall in her first appearance at indoor nationals. Holding Amherst's program record in the event, Hughes was one of four NESCAC athletes to qualify for the 200m. 

Only the top eight in the preliminaries advance to tomorrow's finals, so Hughes and the Mammoths now shift their focus to the outdoor season, which begins March 22 at the Swanson Spring Classic hosted by Wesleyan University.
