AMHERST, Mass. -- Senior
Casie Eifrig led the Mammoths with a second-place finish in the 400m as the Amherst College women's track and field team split competition between the the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University and the Tufts Invitational on Saturday.
Amherst will return to the track at the Triangle Classic on Saturday, February 22 at 10:30 a.m.
HEMERY VALENTINE HIGHLIGHTS:
* Sophomore
Héloïse Hughes placed 14th overall in the 60m recording a time of 7.89 seconds followed by a fourth-place finish in the 200m delivering a personal record of 24.90 seconds.
* In the 800m, junior
Piper Lentz registered a personal best of 2:14.62.
TUFTS HIGHLIGHTS:
* Senior
Claire Callon finished fourth overall in the 5000m, crossing the line with a personal record of 17:56.58.
* First-year
Daniella Perez-Cartaya placed sixth in the mile, posting a personal best time of 5:17.34.
* Senior
Casie Eifrig finished second in the 400m, producing a season best of 58.82.
* In the pole vault, senior
Payton Sorensen tied for fourth place setting a mark of 3.40m.
