#13 Amherst down rivals with 6-3 victory at #15 Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — The #13 Amherst College women's squash team secured a key NESCAC and Little Three victory on Wednesday evening, defeating the #15 Williams College Ephs with a score of 6-3 at the Simon Squash Center. The Mammoths put in a strong performance on the road, winning three of their matches in straight sets to claim the victory.

Up Next: With this win, Amherst improve to 9-4 overall and 5-1 in NESCAC play. The Mammoths will look to carry this momentum into their next match on Saturday when they travel to Middlebury, VT, to take on the #16 Middlebury College Panthers at the Bostwick Family Squash Center. Middlebury enter the matchup with a 9-4 record - the same as Amherst's. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
  • After competing in the CSA Individuals tournament this past weekend, senior Tanmai Pathak and sophomore Quincy Cline set the tone at the top of the lineup, each earning hard-fought four-set victories at the #1 and #2 spots, respectively.
  • Junior Morgan Chaudhary staged an impressive comeback, recovering from two sets down to win in five over Amanda Solecki at the #7 spot.
  • First-year Kristen Daniel also displayed excellent fight with a hard-battled five-set win at the #5 spot. Daniel won the last two sets with scores of 11-8 and 12-10, respectively.
