MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- The Amherst College women's track and field team brought strong performances in the field at the Middlebury Winter Invitational on Saturday.
Amherst returns to action at the Middlebury Small College Invitational hosted at the TRACK at new balance on Sunday, January 26 at 9 am.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Senior Payton Sorenson recorded a mark of 3.25m in the pole vault placing second overall.
* Sophomore
Emma Ramsingh produced a personal best in the weight throw notching a distance of 12.56m and placing fifth overall.
* First-year
Lily Meadows opened her collegiate debut in the shot put with a mark of 10.69m to finish sixth.
* In the long jump, Amherst went fourth, fifth, and sixth as sophomore
Leah Smith posted a mark of 5.19m while first-year
Sophia Ford jumped a distance of 5.09m and classmate
Katie Oliver jumped 5.03m.
* In the pentathlon, senior
Anaya Thomas placed third overall totaling 2851 points to qualify for the New England Division III Championships while first-year
Madison Vant followed in fourth with 2581 points.
