SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Junior
Jessica Huang of the Amherst College women's golf team earned medalist honors with a two-stroke victory after Sunday's final round of the Jack Leaman Invitational, hosted by the Mammoths at The Orchards Golf Club.
Huang shot a 3-over 75 in the second round to finish the tournament at even par with a 36-hole score of 144, two strokes ahead of Wellesley first-year Aileen Du.
The reigning NESCAC champion Mammoths shot 315 (+27) as a team on Sunday for a two-round total of 614 (+38), good for runner-up honors in the 17-team field. Wellesley won the team title after shooting 308 (+20) on Sunday for a two-day total of 608 (+32).
First-year
Abigail Kim shot a 7-over 79 on Sunday to tie for 13th in the 97-golfer field with a two-day total of 156 (+12). Sophomore
Kaia Wu carded an 8-over 80 on Sunday to finish with a 157 (+13) and tie for 20th place. Sophomore
Lindsey Huang (no relation to Jessica) finished in a tie for 28th place with a final score of 159 (+15) and first-year
Annabelle Chen shot a 9-over 81 on Sunday to finish at 161 (+17) and tie for 36th place.
Amherst's "B" team placed seventh in the tournament with a total score of 644 (+68) as senior
Priya Bakshi shot a 4-over 76 on Sunday to tie for seventh at 153 (+9). Senior

Ivy Haight finished in a tie for 31st at 160 (+16) and senior
Mehr Luthra carded a 171 (+27) to tie for 66th place.
The Mammoths, ranked 14th in the nation in the latest WGCA Division III poll, return to action on May 4-5 for the NESCAC Championship, hosted by Williams College at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown. Amherst will be seeking its third straight NESCAC championship.
